If you are receiving a message that you are blocked from accessing Codecademy or are stuck on a verification via Cloudflare, it is likely that your particular IP address has been previously flagged.
This may happen for a few different reasons:
- You are using a VPN
- How many VPNs work is that they use the same IP address for one country. This IP address is then used by anyone using the VPN for that country. Many attackers on sites will use a VPN to hide their actual location when doing attacks by using a VPN, and when our site is attacked, we just block that IP address to prevent further attacks.
- Please turn off the VPN, and this should resolve the error.
- You are using a public network (library, work, etc)
- A public IP address may have been previously blocked
- Please test a different IP address to confirm
- If there is a particular reason you need to use this IP address, please reach out to our Customer Support team
- Many individuals from the same IP address are accessing Codecademy at the same time
- This may be the case if your classroom is all trying to access Codecademy together
