If you initially create your Codecademy account by linking a third-party account (Google, Facebook, GitHub, X, or Apple) to your Codecademy account, you won't have a password associated with the account due to the authentication.
If you would prefer to log in to Codecademy with a traditional email and password rather than logging in via a third-party, you will need to disconnect your third-party account from your Codecademy account and set up a password. To do so, please complete the following:
- Log into Codecademy.com as you normally would via your third-party account.
- Confirm that the email on the Account page is a valid email you have access to.
- Visit your Linked Accounts page and unlink the necessary account. This will automatically log you out of the account.
- Go to the Forgot My Password page, and enter the email associated with your account to receive a password reset email to set up a password.
- Once all set, you can now log in with the email address associated with your account and the newly created password. If you would like to reconnect any third-party accounts at this time, you can do so now to give you the option to log in multiple different ways.
