We’re redesigning Codecademy profiles with collaboration in mind!
Your profile can be your public face within Codecademy. Expect to see this space change and grow in the coming months as we add more features and functionality aimed at making it easier to find and connect with peers and mentors who can support you on your learning journey. Your Profile will still list all of your certificates and badges.
Newly introduced items
We’ve added the following so that your profile will give peers a better sense of who you are and what you’re working on:
- Bio
- Current course enrollments
Changes
We’ve updated the way you edit your profile to give you greater control over what is being shared and with whom it is being shared. All information on your profile will be added and controlled in your profile. All information pertaining to your account will be added and controlled in your account settings.
We’re upgrading privacy settings. Don’t want to share your profile publicly? No problem! We’ve added a new fully private option that allows only you to view your profile.
Want to keep your name private? We can help with that too. Keeping your name private will remove it from your profile and will disable the certificate PDF view which includes your name. You can still share your full certificate by downloading a copy or posting it on Linkedin.
Items removed
Points - Points are part of a legacy reward system that we no longer support.
Daily streaks- Our research shows that our new weekly targets and streaks are more effective than daily streaks for keeping your learning on track.
What’s the difference between my profile and my home?
Your profile can be a public space to share who you are, what you’re working on, and what you’ve accomplished. Your home is a personal space to monitor stats, progress, and accomplishments in order to manage your own learning journey.
