Web Development Pro Path

This path is great for budding front-end or back-end engineers or anyone who works closely with them! You will master the languages of the web in this path: HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. The path includes:

  • Introduction to JavaScript
    • You will learn introductory level object-oriented programming using ES6 JavaScript. This course sequence covers data types and structures, functions, and object-oriented programming with classical inheritance. Though you will learn these concepts in the context of ES6 syntax, are required knowledge for understanding object-oriented programming.
  • Learn HTML
    • You will know all the common HTML tags used to structure HTML pages, the skeleton of all websites. You will also be able to create HTML tables to present tabular data efficiently.
  • Learn CSS
    • You will learn many aspects of styling web pages! From setting up the correct file structure to editing text and colors, and creating attractive layouts! You'll be able to customize the appearance of your web pages to suit your every need!
  • Introduction to jQuery
    • In this sequence, you will learn how to add jQuery to web pages. You will learn to use effects, event handlers, style methods, and traverse the DOM.
  • Learn ReactJS: Part I
    • By the end of this course, you'll develop a strong understanding of React's most essential concepts: JSX, components, and storing information via props and state. By the course's end, you'll be able to combine these ideas in React's modular programming style.
  • Learn ReactJS: Part II
    • This course will teach you the remaining most essential tools that any React.js programmer is expected to know, including lifecycle methods, prototypes, basic styling, stateless functional components, and more. You will also be introduced to your first React.js programming patterns, and learn to setup React on your local computer.
  • Learn SQL
    • In this course, you'll learn how to communicate with relational databases through SQL. You'll learn—and practice with 4 projects—how to manipulate data and build queries that communicate with more than one table.
  • Learn Node-SQLite
    • In this course, you'll learn how to integrate SQL into your JavaScript. Doing so will separate the concerns of database administration from those of application programming. This delineation of responsibilities allows us to use both languages for what they're best at. We will learn how to perform fundamental SQL tasks -- creating, reading, updating, and deleting, all within a JavaScript application.
