It looks like my payment was declined. Why was that?

A processor decline indicates that the your bank has refused the transaction request. Only your bank can confirm the specific reason. Here are a few of the most common ones:

  • Incorrect credit card number or expiration date
  • Insufficient funds
  • Some banks will reject charges based on location
  • Some banks will reject charges based on their own fraud rules

As a heads up, your Codecademy Pro subscription will automatically deactivate should your payment fail on multiple accounts. Should you wish to return at a later date, your course progress will remain saved and accessible.
