Who can access the job-readiness checker?
A Pro subscription is required to access the Job Readiness Checker.
What AI technology is being used?
Codecademy uses OpenAI’s text-based generative AI technology to produce predictive reports of job compatibility. The AI-generated reports compare job postings with your Codecademy learner progress information and any resume information you enter. The resulting job compatibility percentage is an estimate of how closely your experience aligns with what the job requires. Note that the AI-generated report is based solely on the information made available to Codecademy, and it may not account for other factors such as interview skills, networking, and additional job search strategies.
Is my resume information being saved?
We save your resume information so you don’t have to enter it every time you generate a report. We use your saved resume information to determine your compatibility for the job postings you provide.
You can delete all your experience by clicking the three buttons at the bottom of the “Your experience” tab. Your saved reports will not change, but your experience will be permanently deleted from the job-readiness checker.
How do you calculate my score?
The compatibility percentage is an estimate of how closely your current skills and experiences align with what the job requires. It is a rough estimate and does not account for other factors that employers might consider, such as interview skills, specific project experience, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
How can I improve my score?
After generating your report, the job-readiness checker gives you a list of areas of improvement and skills to learn to increase your compatibility score. You can gain these skills by enrolling in a related course in our catalog.
Which job posting websites can I use?
As of now, only job postings from LinkedIn can be automatically analyzed with just a URL. You can also manually paste in the text from any job posting into the text field. We are working on adding more job posting sites.
How frequently can I generate a report?
You can generate up to ten job-readiness reports daily.
What types of jobs can I analyze?
To use the job-readiness checker, add a link to a software engineering or other developer job posting. We cannot yet generate reports for other types of job postings.
Can I delete a report?
Yes, you can. To delete a report, go to the report page and click the three dots next to “Recheck score.” Then click the option that says “Delete report.”
